May is Mediterranean Foods Month! The Mediterranean dietary eating pattern is one that centers around healthful plant-based foods as well as emphasizes other important aspects of a healthy lifestyle including, being social, acting mindfully and engaging in physical activity. This month we tasted olive oils and balsamic vinegars donated to our program from the Crushed Olive. We learned all about the health benefits of olive oil, what commonly used terms like expeller pressed, cold-pressed and refined mean and how to choose a good one!
