June is designated Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month. Although fruits and vegetables can be enjoyed all year long it’s understandable that the start of summer emphasizes their importance. Besides providing antioxidants, phytochemicals and an abundance of vitamins and minerals, there are countless creative ways to incorporate them into your diet to meet recommended amounts. Program days in June brought many farm-fresh treats and raised the culinary experience to a whole new level.
